Commercial & Industrial
At Onward Solar Power, we enable industries and commercial establishments to switch to renewable power through the Open Access model under the Electricity Act, 2003. Our end-to-end solutions cover everything from consumption analysis to building and operating dedicated solar parks for clients.
WHAT IS OPEN ACCESS?
Open Access allows large consumers (typically with a contract demand of 1 MW and above) to purchase power directly from renewable energy generators instead of relying only on DISCOMs. This is governed by the Electricity Act, 2003, and regulations of State Electricity Regulatory Commissions (SERCs) and the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC).
Key regulatory aspects include:
Eligibility – Consumers with minimum 1 MW connected load/contract demand.
Charges – Open Access consumers pay wheeling, transmission, and cross-subsidy charges as per state regulations.
Models – A Long-Term renewable power access through STU/ISTS networks under C&I open access model.
OUR working process
Consumption Analysis & Compliance
We begin by studying the client’s power consumption patterns and conducting regulatory checks to ensure Open Access eligibility. Based on this, we structure a renewable energy supply and draft the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Project Development & Construction
We set up a dedicated solar park (or shared capacity under group captive open access) for the consumer’s requirement. The plant is engineered, built, and commissioned, fully compliant with state and central electricity regulations.
Operations & Maintenance
Once operational, we manage and maintain the solar park end-to-end. Our teams ensure uninterrupted renewable power supply through strict SOPs and real-time monitoring, giving clients cost savings and sustainability benefits.
